Kemsley Mathias, Jake Ball Re-sign with Scarlets

Wales lock Jake Ball has reversed his retirement decision and will rejoin the Scarlets for the 2025-26 season, following his stint with Japan's NEC Green Rockets. Ball, who has 50 Wales caps and was part of the 2019 Grand Slam-winning side, previously spent nine seasons with Scarlets and made 133 appearances before leaving in 2021. He cited unfinished business and the desire for a proper farewell as key factors in his return, expressing excitement to contribute his experience to a young and ambitious Scarlets squad. Ball remains eligible for Wales selection and aims to help fill the vacancy created by the departure of Scotland lock Alex Craig. Scarlets head coach Dwayne Peel highlighted Ball’s leadership and professionalism as valuable assets for the developing team.
