West Virginia Football Adds Running Back Kannon Katzer via Transfer Portal

West Virginia University has bolstered its running back roster with the addition of Kannon Katzer, a standout from Ferris State who rushed for 1,128 yards and 11 touchdowns last season, and who also contributed as a receiver. Katzer, who previously played at Washington State and Citrus College, chose WVU after receiving offers from several other schools and has two seasons of eligibility remaining. His arrival comes alongside other recent transfer additions, including SMU's Jaylan Knighton and Northern Iowa's Tye Edwards, joining returning players Jahiem White, Diore Hubbard, and Clay Ash to create a deep and competitive backfield. The influx of talent is expected to strengthen coach Rich Rodriguez's run-focused offense heading into the 2025-2026 season.
