Pinterest has introduced Pinterest Assistant, an AI-powered, visual-first tool designed to enhance online shopping and discovery by offering personalized recommendations based on users' unique tastes and saved content. This assistant utilizes a multimodal AI model trained on billions of signals and the company's proprietary Taste-graph to deliver visual and shoppable product suggestions, outperforming conventional models in relevance. Users can interact with Pinterest Assistant primarily via voice commands, enabling conversational and visual queries like finding items that match specific styles or existing wardrobe pieces. Alongside, Pinterest is rolling out AI-driven features such as "Styled for You" and "Boards Made for You," which help users create personalized outfits and curated collections by blending editorial insights with AI recommendations, aiming to transform boards into interactive shopping assistants. The company is also addressing user concerns about AI-generated content by labeling such content and providing controls to manage its presence. Currently, Pinterest Assistant is in beta for U.S. users 18 and older, with plans for broader availability soon.
