Wildfires Burn in Colorado, California; Crews Respond

Firefighters responded to several small wildfires across the western United States, including incidents in Colorado and California. In Camino, California, Cal Fire contained a two-acre vegetation fire with ground and air support, and crews remained on site for further containment. In Colorado Springs, a grass fire near 1201 S. Nevada Avenue was extinguished after burning less than a quarter acre and involving a utility pole, with access complicated by its proximity to I-25. Near Durango, Colorado, a wildfire of about 1 to 2 acres in the Shalona Hill area prompted helicopter water drops as crews worked to contain the blaze.
