Thousands Celebrate Fourth of July Parades Edmonds, West Seattle, Edmond
The city of Edmonds and Edmond, Oklahoma, both continued their long-standing traditions of celebrating Independence Day with parades and festivities in 2025. Edmonds marked its 118th annual Fourth of July parade, a tradition dating back to 1907, while Edmond hosted its LibertyFest parade at 9 a.m., which has been a family event since 1972 and concluded with a fireworks display at E.C. Hafer Park. Meanwhile, West Seattle held its 2025 Fourth of July Kids’ Parade, featuring participation from local residents, the Seattle Police Department, and appearances by Mayor Bruce Harrell and former Mayor Greg Nickels. The parade culminated at Hamilton Viewpoint with sack races and an afterparty with food trucks and activity booths, organized by the Admiral Neighborhood Association. Mayor Harrell praised West Seattle as the best part of the city, highlighting the parade's inclusive and community-driven nature. These celebrations reflect a vibrant and diverse set of Fourth of July traditions across different American communities.
