Two Black Bear Attacks in the U.S. Recently

Two separate black bear attacks have occurred recently in the United States. On August 13, a 17-year-old girl in Roslyn, Washington, was scratched by a black bear while taking out the trash, resulting in minor injuries. Officials euthanized the bear, which had become habituated to human food. Meanwhile, on August 11, a 3-year-old girl was attacked by a black bear in her tent at a Montana campground near Yellowstone National Park. The bear was also euthanized after being found with food and garbage around the tent, highlighting the dangers of unsecured attractants in bear country.
