U.S. Marshals arrest hit-and-run suspect in Texas for fatal crash in Urbana
Juan Jahaziel Saenz-Suarez, a 27-year-old Mexican national, has been arrested in Texas for a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in Urbana, Illinois, resulting in the deaths of Chloe Polzin and Katherine Abraham. Saenz-Suarez, who was living in Urbana, was identified as the driver of a red Mitsubishi Outlander that rear-ended a Honda Civic, which was stopped at a traffic signal. He was located by the U.S. Marshals Service in Milford, Texas, while trying to flee to Mexico on a bus. Authorities have charged him with reckless homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal injury crash. Urbana Police Chief Larry D. Boone praised the collaboration between local law enforcement and the U.S. Marshals in capturing the suspect. Saenz-Suarez is currently awaiting extradition to Illinois.
