Luke Littler Nominated for BBC Sports Award

The nominees for the 2024 BBC Sports Personality of the Year include notable athletes such as Joe Root, who became England's highest Test run-scorer after surpassing Sir Alastair Cook, and Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson, who won 800m gold in Paris and set a new British record. Darts prodigy Luke Littler, just 17, has made headlines for his rapid rise in the sport, having reached the PDC World Championship final and won several major titles this year. Alongside them are Jude Bellingham, who excelled with Real Madrid and the England national team, triathlete Alex Yee, who claimed Olympic gold and a world title, and Paralympian Dame Sarah Storey. Hodgkinson is favored to win, which would mark the fourth consecutive year a female athlete takes the award. Littler's potential victory would make him the youngest winner in over 60 years. The awards ceremony is scheduled for December 17.
