Mitchell and Webb reunite for new Channel 4 sketch show

David Mitchell and Robert Webb are reuniting for a new sketch series on Channel 4, marking their return to comedy nearly a decade after the end of their acclaimed show, Peep Show. The six-part series will feature a blend of established comedy talent and emerging stars, including Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans. In a joint statement, Mitchell and Webb expressed their surprise at being asked to return, hoping that reviving sketch comedy will be a 'brilliant piece of counterintuitive commissioning' in a challenging industry. They noted the importance of supporting the genre, humorously referencing a film scene to illustrate their commitment to British TV comedy. Kiell Smith-Bynoe expressed excitement about collaborating with the duo, likening the experience to finally sitting at the 'grown-ups table.' The project will be produced by That Mitchell & Webb Company in collaboration with Big Talk Studios, known for hit shows like Friday Night Dinner.
