Punjab Recognized Third in Voluntary Blood Donations

Punjab has been recognized as the third-best state in India for voluntary blood donation, achieving this milestone during the India Blood Donation NGO Conclave in Jaipur. The state's Blood Transfusion Council organized 11,109 donation camps and collected 493,000 units of blood, surpassing the Government of India's target. Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh praised the efforts of various teams in ensuring a stable blood supply and highlighted Punjab's extensive network of 182 licensed blood centers. Meanwhile, Chandigarh received the top position among Union Territories for its contributions to blood donation, with officials participating in a mass pledge ceremony. In related news, five Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Punjab will be upgraded into centers of excellence, aiming to create 10,000 jobs annually. These initiatives underscore the state's commitment to healthcare and skill development.
