Frisco Woman Arrested for $25K Elderly Scam in Garland
Jessica Bahu, a 22-year-old woman from Frisco, Texas, was arrested by Garland police for scamming an elderly couple out of $25,000 by falsely posing as an FBI agent. The couple, aged 80 and 77, were manipulated over several hours into withdrawing cash from their bank and handing it over to Bahu in a remote parking lot. Bahu was charged with exploitation of the elderly, a third-degree felony, and has since bonded out of jail on a $100,000 bond. Garland detectives are collaborating with the FBI on potential federal charges and believe other individuals may be involved in the scam. Authorities advise the public to be cautious of scam calls, verify caller identities directly with organizations, and report suspicious activity to local police. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to contact the Garland Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
