Plaque for Tree of Life Victims Stolen

A memorial plaque honoring the 11 victims of the 2018 Tree of Life Synagogue shooting has been stolen from outside Taylor Allderdice High School in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill neighborhood. The plaque, donated by the school's boys basketball team, was discovered missing, although the exact timing of the theft remains unclear. Pittsburgh Public Schools is currently reviewing security footage but has not identified any suspects. The victims of the shooting, which remains the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history, include Joyce Fienberg, Richard Gottfried, and Rose Mallinger, among others. A replacement plaque has already been ordered and is expected to be installed ahead of the sixth anniversary of the tragedy. School officials reiterated their commitment to honoring the victims' memory and the importance of the memorial in the community.
