India and China are exploring ways to enhance their civil aviation cooperation, particularly the resumption of direct flights that were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During a meeting on the sidelines of the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation in New Delhi, India's Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu and China's Civil Aviation Administration chief Song Zhiyong discussed potential measures to facilitate this process. Naidu highlighted that while the resumption of scheduled passenger flights was a key topic, no definitive decision has been reached, pending further discussions with the external affairs ministry and other stakeholders. Currently, travelers between the two nations must use third-country connections. Airlines such as IndiGo and Air India previously operated flights to China prior to the pandemic.
