Sheffield Council Plans 3,000 Homes 1,500 Jobs Attercliffe Regeneration

Sheffield City Council, in partnership with Homes England, has unveiled an ambitious Attercliffe Regeneration Framework aiming to deliver 3,000 new homes and 1,500 new jobs over the next 10 to 15 years, transforming the area into a vibrant, eco-conscious community. The framework covers six locations within Attercliffe and includes plans to improve the transport network as part of the wider Darnall Attercliffe City Centre project. Local officials emphasized the historical significance of Attercliffe and the need to revitalize the neighborhood, which has experienced long-term decline, while preserving its iconic buildings and community feel. Public consultation on the plans is underway, inviting developers and residents to provide feedback to refine the vision. Meanwhile, in the broader UK housing sector, Propertymark has called for government support to help small and medium-sized homebuilders overcome planning hurdles, reduce red tape, and address skilled labor shortages to contribute to the national target of 1.5 million new homes. Additionally, Barratt and David Wilson Homes North East announced plans to build up to 2,000 homes and create over 3,700 jobs by 2029, aligning with government economic growth objectives.
