Singapore Vessel Collides With Chinese Ship Off Guangzhou, Two Missing
A Singapore-registered container vessel, WAN HAI A17, collided with a Chinese-registered ship, HAI LI 5, in the waters off Guangzhou, China, on October 25. The Chinese vessel reportedly sank, and Chinese authorities are conducting search and rescue operations, with two of its 15 crew members still missing. The 23 crew members aboard the Singapore vessel were unharmed, and no pollution was reported following the collision. WAN HAI A17 is being held in port to assist Chinese authorities with the investigation, and the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is also conducting its own investigation.
