Fortnite Launches Mobile-Focused Blitz Royale Mode

Epic Games is launching a new Fortnite game mode called Blitz Royale on June 18, designed to offer fast-paced, five-minute matches with a rogue-like design specifically crafted for mobile play but available on all platforms with cross-play support. The mode will feature 32-player matches, likely on smaller maps, making it ideal for bite-sized gameplay sessions suitable for mobile users. This addition comes alongside a major update that includes a new map and weapons for Fortnite Ballistic, a new Lego Fortnite mode, and the latest Fortnite Festival season. Despite being optimized for mobile, Blitz Royale is expected to appeal broadly, with Epic emphasizing its quicker matches compared to the traditional 20-25 minute Battle Royale games. The June 18 update is Fortnite's last major content release for about a month, coinciding with a summer break for Epic employees. Fans are also anticipating additional changes, such as the potential removal of bots from Fortnite OG, which may alter lobby compositions.
