Nvidia has made its first investment in a Taiwanese startup, MetAI, which specializes in AI-powered digital twins, securing $4 million in a seed funding round. MetAI's technology enables the rapid conversion of CAD files into simulation-ready digital twins, significantly reducing the traditional development timeline from months to minutes. This investment aligns with Nvidia's focus on advancing its industrial AI platform, Omniverse, and positions MetAI to enhance automation in sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing and logistics. MetAI's generative AI models are designed to bridge the gap between simulation and real-world applications, which is crucial for training autonomous systems. The funding will bolster MetAI's research and development efforts and support its expansion into the U.S. market. CEO Daniel Yu emphasized that their technology addresses significant barriers in developing physical AI at scale, facilitating instant training of AI systems in physics-based virtual environments.
