Walmart Employee Found Dead in Oven in Halifax

The Halifax Regional Police have ruled the death of 19-year-old Gursimran Kaur, found in a Walmart bakery's walk-in oven, as not suspicious and without foul play. Kaur's mother, who also worked at the store, discovered her daughter after searching for her when she did not return for over an hour. Authorities conducted multiple interviews and reviewed video footage during their investigation, confirming no involvement of others in the incident. The incident occurred on October 19, and a fundraising effort by the Maritime Sikh Society has raised over $194,000 to support Kaur's family. The Nova Scotia Department of Labour had previously issued a stop-work order for the bakery, which was lifted after safety compliance was confirmed. The Walmart store remains closed as investigations continue.
