Clippers Sign Lopez, Pelicans Add Looney
Brook Lopez has signed a two-year, $18 million contract with the Los Angeles Clippers after seven seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks, where he became known for his three-point shooting and defense. Lopez, 37, averaged 13 points, 5 rebounds, and nearly 2 blocks per game last season, ranking second in Bucks history in blocked shots and fourth in three-pointers made. The Clippers plan to use him as a backup to Ivica Zubac as they aim for a deeper playoff run. In a separate move, the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed to a two-year, $16 million contract with three-time NBA champion Kevon Looney, who leaves the Golden State Warriors after 10 years. Looney averaged 4.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game last season, and is expected to bolster the Pelicans' frontcourt depth. Both teams are targeting experienced big men to strengthen their rotations.
