Michigan Man Faces Aggravated Stalking Charges Against AG Nessel, Wife

Christopher Dean Baldwin, a 42-year-old man from Jackson, Michigan, faces new aggravated stalking charges against Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel and her wife, Alanna Maguire. Baldwin was previously charged with misdemeanor stalking but had been deemed incompetent to stand trial, leading to the dismissal of those charges. Prosecutors allege that Baldwin used Nessel and Maguire's address and phone number without permission to receive court documents on February 27, 2025, and has a history of harassing them, including appearing at their home and a city commission meeting. He has been arraigned on two counts of aggravated stalking and was given a $200,000 bond with the requirement to wear a GPS tether if released. Baldwin is currently housed in a secure facility under the jurisdiction of the Wayne County Third Circuit Court Probate Division, pending a determination of his competency. His next court dates are scheduled for April 4 and April 11, 2025.
