Christopher A. Decesare, a music teacher from Toms River Intermediate South, has been charged with distributing child sexual abuse materials, following an investigation initiated after a tip to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The inquiry, led by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, revealed Decesare was sharing and receiving such materials via social media and email. Separately, Michael Rubino, a former Westchester County music teacher, was arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching and attempting to kiss a student in June at Hastings High School. Rubino, who had a lengthy teaching career of over 20 years, is facing multiple misdemeanor charges and has pleaded not guilty, while being placed on administrative leave and subsequently retiring. Both cases highlight serious allegations of misconduct by educators, prompting calls for community vigilance and support for victims.
