Driver Arrested After Wrong-Way Crash in San Marcos

A Palm Harbor man, Don Carr, 63, was arrested for DUI after driving the wrong way on Mandalay Avenue and colliding with another vehicle; fortunately, no injuries were reported. Separately, in San Marcos, a police chase ensued following reports of a possible stabbing in Vista. Deputies pursued a Honda Accord that sped through red lights and entered state Route 78 going the wrong way, prompting them to halt the chase for safety. Shortly after, the car crashed, with the driver crawling out and jumping into a ditch; he was later apprehended and treated for a leg injury. The initial reports of a stabbing were found to be unfounded, and the California Highway Patrol is now investigating the incident. Both cases highlight serious traffic violations resulting in dangerous situations, but thankfully, no other vehicles were involved in the crashes.
