West Virginia Football Coaching Changes Announced

West Virginia University football coach Rich Rodriguez has made significant staffing changes, hiring Michael Nysewander as the tight ends coach and Ryan Garrett as the wide receivers coach. Nysewander, who previously coached at Jacksonville State and Ole Miss, helped lead the Gamecocks to a 9-5 record and a Conference USA championship in 2024. Garrett has also been with Rodriguez since 2021, contributing to Jacksonville State's successful 2024 season, where they ranked highly in multiple offensive categories. Additionally, Blaine Stewart has been retained as the inside receivers coach after coaching tight ends for the past two seasons. Stewart, son of former WVU coach Bill Stewart, brings NFL experience from his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. These appointments reflect Rodriguez's commitment to building a strong coaching staff to enhance the Mountaineers' performance.
