Xpeng plans entry into Indian EV market, monitors ADAS rollout

Xpeng Motors is considering entering the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market, although a formal launch is not imminent. During a media roundtable, a senior executive highlighted both the opportunities and challenges in India, noting its unique traffic conditions compared to China. Xpeng plans to introduce its X9 multipurpose vehicle, priced around $49,200 in China, which offers advanced technology and features that could be competitive in India’s luxury EV segment. The company is also exploring the long-term possibility of introducing its advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) in India, though initial focus remains on rolling them out in Europe and Southeast Asia. Xpeng's founder expressed confidence in the future of Chinese brands in the global market, aiming to increase overseas sales significantly over the next decade. The company has launched its revised 2025 X9 model, boasting premium upgrades and enhanced comfort features, setting a strong precedent as it looks to expand internationally.
