Sri Lanka Prepares for T20 Series Against India

As Sri Lanka prepares for the upcoming T20I series against India, interim coach Sanath Jayasuriya emphasizes the importance of discipline among players, aiming to uphold cricket's reputation as 'the gentlemen's game'. Jayasuriya believes that the absence of Indian stars Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, who recently retired after the T20 World Cup, presents a significant opportunity for Sri Lanka to capitalize. He acknowledged the immense talent of these players, stating their absence will be a loss for the Indian team. The series will also mark the start of a new era for India under head coach Gautam Gambhir and T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's players have benefitted from training sessions with Rajasthan Royals' high-performance director Zubin Bharucha in preparation for the series. The T20I matches commence on July 27 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
