Premier Lacrosse League Launches Women's League

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) has announced the launch of the Women’s Lacrosse League (WLL), set to debut in February 2025 during the PLL Championship Series, featuring four teams in the Olympic Sixes format. This initiative comes as lacrosse prepares to return to the Olympics in 2028, showcasing both men’s and women’s competitions for the first time since 1948. Notable players, including Charlotte North and Izzy Scane, have committed to the WLL, which aims to provide a premier platform for female athletes and inspire future generations. The league is designed to promote the sport and will not conflict with existing women's lacrosse leagues, as confirmed by the PLL. Whirlpool has become the first founding partner of the WLL, enhancing its support for women’s lacrosse. The full details regarding team locations and player rosters will be announced later.
