A carjacking incident in Beverly Hills led to a crash near the Rodeo Drive holiday celebration, injuring four people. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old James Portul from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, allegedly stole a black BMW X3 from a woman around 7 p.m. on North Bedford Drive. Shortly thereafter, he lost control of the vehicle near Wilshire Boulevard and Camden Drive, hitting two men, a woman, and a juvenile, before crashing into a building. Emergency services transported the injured parties to local hospitals, though their conditions remain unknown. Portul fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by police officers assigned to the holiday event. He faces charges of carjacking and hit-and-run with injury.
