Oceanside Police Investigate Attacks on Homeless

Oceanside police have issued a public safety advisory following a disturbing series of attacks on homeless individuals, resulting in two fatalities and one severe injury. The first incident, which occurred on September 18, involved a stabbing that left a 45-year-old victim injured but alive. In the subsequent attacks on October 5 and 6, two homeless men, both in their 60s, were found dead with blunt force injuries in locations near the railroad tracks and the San Luis Rey riverbed. Police Chief Kedrick Sadler confirmed that there are currently no suspects and that investigators are exploring whether these attacks are connected. In response, the police have increased patrols in areas frequented by the homeless and are providing resources for those at risk. The department is urging anyone with information to come forward as they work to protect the vulnerable population in Oceanside.
