Brighton’s Julio Enciso Out Three Months After Knee Surgery

Julio Enciso, the 21-year-old Paraguayan winger at Brighton & Hove Albion, faces a significant setback with a knee injury requiring surgery, sidelining him for around three months and halting his planned departure from the club this summer. Enciso, who spent the latter half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Ipswich Town, has struggled with recurring knee problems since joining Brighton three years ago, including a six-month absence during his second season and a meniscus tear last year. Despite his injuries, Enciso made 70 appearances for Brighton, contributing seven goals and nine assists. Brighton’s head coach Fabian Hurzeler has indicated that Enciso is not in his future plans for the upcoming campaign, and the player had been seeking a transfer before the injury intervened. Meanwhile, the club continues its pre-season preparations positively, with a 3-1 win over Stoke City highlighted by goals from new and existing players, as Hurzeler noted improvements in team cohesion and readiness.
