Gibbs Wins In-Season Challenge; Indy Purses Rise
Ty Gibbs won the inaugural NASCAR In-Season Challenge at the Brickyard 400, earning a $1 million prize by finishing ahead of Ty Dillon. Bubba Wallace secured a playoff spot with his victory at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Brickyard 400, the 22nd race of the Cup Series season, features an increased purse of $11,055,250. The weekend also includes the Xfinity Series Pennzoil 250 with a $1,651,939 purse and the TSport 200 Truck Series event at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park with a $782,900 purse. Corey Heim will start on pole for the Truck Series event after rain canceled qualifying. All three major NASCAR series are competing in Indianapolis, with live TV and radio coverage available.
