Injury-hit Kyrgios Withdraws from 2025 US Open Singles
Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the 2025 US Open men's singles tournament due to ongoing injury issues, marking the third consecutive year he has missed the event. The 30-year-old Australian has struggled with knee, wrist, and foot problems since his peak 2022 season, when he reached the Wimbledon final and US Open quarter-finals. Kyrgios' last singles match was in March at the Miami Open, and he had also pulled out of a planned mixed doubles appearance with Naomi Osaka at Flushing Meadows due to his 'cooked' knee. The withdrawal means a Lucky Loser from the qualifying rounds will take his place in the draw. His injuries have severely limited his participation over the past three years, forcing him to skip multiple Grand Slams and impacting his ability to maintain consistent form. With no further Grand Slams this season after the US Open, Kyrgios will focus on recovery and preparation for the next season.
