Six Arrested in PKK Counter-Terrorism Raid

Six individuals have been arrested in London as part of a significant counter-terrorism investigation into activities linked to the banned Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK). The detainees, aged between 23 and 62, were apprehended during dawn raids across multiple addresses. Searches are ongoing at eight locations, including the Kurdish Community Centre in Haringey, where operations may continue for up to two weeks. Acting Commander Helen Flanagan emphasized that these are targeted arrests aimed at preventing harm to communities in the UK and elsewhere, and reassured the public that there is no imminent threat. The heightened police presence and closure of the community centre are part of efforts to ensure community safety, particularly for Turkish and Kurdish populations. Flanagan urged anyone affected by the PKK to contact authorities.
