Massachusetts Beverly Plane Crash Kills Pilot, Passenger
A small plane crashed shortly after takeoff near Beverly Regional Airport on June 19, resulting in the deaths of pilot Geoffrey Andrews, 30, of Melrose, and passenger Joseph Puciloski, 28, of Malden. Andrews, an MIT aerospace engineer who was passionate about flying and aspiring to become a flight instructor, died at the scene, while Puciloski initially survived but later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Andrews' family announced he was expecting his first child in October and established a GoFundMe to support his wife and unborn child. The crash occurred due to engine issues, and the plane came to rest near a utility pole on a roadway. The Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board, Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, and Essex County District Attorney's Office are actively investigating the cause of the crash. No further details have been released as the investigation remains ongoing.
