Hong Kong Leads Asia, Third Globally in Financial Rankings
Hong Kong has reaffirmed its status as Asia's top financial hub and ranks third globally, according to the latest Global Financial Centres Index. The report highlights an increase of 11 points in Hong Kong's overall rating, distancing it further from Singapore, which remains fourth. Hong Kong excelled in investment management, insurance, and finance, topping these categories, while also achieving second place in human capital and infrastructure. The city's government attributes this success to support from mainland China and strategic developments in the financial sector. New York remains first with a score of 769, followed by London at 762. The index, published semi-annually by the Z/Yen Group and the China Development Institute, assesses 119 financial centers based on various critical factors.
