Angelina Jolie has shared her emotional journey of rediscovering her singing voice in preparation for her role as opera singer Maria Callas in the upcoming biopic 'Maria'. In a conversation with Cynthia Erivo for Variety, she reflected on how personal losses, particularly the death of her mother in 2007, contributed to her feelings of having 'lost' her voice. Jolie described the process of learning to sing opera as both challenging and therapeutic, stating, "Finding it and letting it come out was very emotional, and such a feeling that I wish for everybody to have." Despite being initially terrified, she credited her teachers and the supportive environment created by director Pablo Larraín for helping her regain her confidence.
