AI Diagnoses Diseases via Tongue Color and Texture

Researchers from the University of South Australia and Middle Technical University in Iraq have developed an AI model that can diagnose diseases with 98% accuracy by analyzing the color and texture of the tongue. Inspired by traditional Chinese medicine, the AI can detect conditions such as diabetes, cancer, stroke, anemia, asthma, liver and gallbladder issues, and COVID-19. The model was trained using 5,260 images and tested with 60 images from two Middle Eastern hospitals. The AI system, which correlates tongue characteristics with specific diseases, may soon be available as a smartphone app, enhancing accessibility. This innovative approach could revolutionize real-time disease diagnosis and monitoring.
