Fresno, Valley Center Begin Construction on New Fire Stations

Two significant fire station projects are underway in California to improve emergency response and safety for their communities. Valley Center Fire Protection District broke ground on its third fire station, a temporary facility aimed at reducing homeowner insurance rates and fully funded through recent tax allocations, with completion expected by the end of the year. In Fresno, officials celebrated the groundbreaking of a new permanent Fire Station 12 to replace the existing temporary station in use since 1977. The new $14.3 million facility, expected to be completed by July 2026, will feature a modern design with four apparatus bays, increased space for firefighters and equipment, and a better location to improve response times and firefighter working conditions. Both projects reflect years of planning and community support to address growing needs and infrastructure challenges in their respective areas.
