Mango Founder Isak Andic Dies in Hiking Accident
Isak Andic, the 71-year-old founder of the global fashion chain Mango, died on December 14 after falling from a cliff while hiking near Barcelona. According to reports, Andic slipped and fell more than 150 meters in a remote area of the Salnitre caves, where he was hiking with his wife and son. Mango's CEO, Toni Ruiz, expressed deep sorrow over Andic's unexpected death, praising his commitment and leadership that shaped the brand into one of Europe's largest fashion retailers with around 2,800 stores worldwide. Andic, originally from Turkey, established Mango in 1984 and was known for his visionary business strategies. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and other officials have paid tribute to Andic, recognizing his contributions to the fashion industry. At the time of his passing, Andic's net worth was estimated at $4.5 billion.
