USDA Announces $99.6 Million for Biofuels

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced an investment of $99.6 million to fund 160 projects across 26 states aimed at enhancing access to clean energy and increasing domestic biofuels availability. This funding, part of the Inflation Reduction Act, is expected to create jobs, lower fuel costs, and promote clean energy initiatives. Among the notable projects, Casey's General Store received over $3.5 million to install biofuel dispensers in Iowa, while a Nevada-based company will use a $3.7 million grant to enhance biofuel dispensing facilities. USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack emphasized that these efforts will strengthen energy independence and address climate change impacts. Additionally, the announcement coincides with significant upcoming events in the biofuel sector, including the North American SAF Conference & Expo and the International Biomass Conference & Expo.
