Coordinated Attack at Texas ICE Facility: 12 Charged

Federal and state authorities have issued a Blue Alert and are conducting a manhunt for Benjamin Hanil Song, a 32-year-old former U.S. Marine Corps Reservist, following a coordinated July 4 ambush at the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas. Song, identified as the primary shooter, allegedly fired up to 30 rounds from AR-15-style rifles, including one with a binary trigger, after suspects in military-style clothing used fireworks and vandalism to lure officers outside. The attack left an Alvarado police officer wounded and is described by authorities as a premeditated ambush. Song is the 12th person charged in the case, with ten other suspects already arrested and charged with attempted murder, terrorism, and firearms offenses. The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to Song's arrest and warns that he is armed and dangerous. Authorities urge the public not to approach Song and to contact the FBI with any information on his whereabouts.
