Multiple Major Fentanyl Busts Seize Tens of Pounds Across US States

Recent drug enforcement operations across multiple states have resulted in significant fentanyl seizures and arrests tied to trafficking and distribution networks. In Troutdale, Oregon, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Dangerous Drug Team seized seven pounds of fentanyl, along with equipment used for processing and packaging, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking. In Gwinnett County, Georgia, authorities arrested Celia Lara Rios, who was found with 25 kilograms of fentanyl linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel; this amount is enough to potentially kill 12 million people and represents one of the largest fentanyl seizures in the state. Additionally, Gaston County, North Carolina, police charged Demetria Ronika Blackmond with 23 felony counts for distributing over 3,000 pressed fentanyl pills and more than 250 grams of fentanyl powder. Officials warn that pressed fentanyl pills are extremely dangerous and deceptive, with even a single pill capable of causing death. These cases highlight ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies nationwide to combat the illegal fentanyl trade and its deadly impact on communities.
