Samsung Workers Strike at Sriperumbudur Plant

Operations at Samsung Electronics' Sriperumbudur plant in southern India have been disrupted for a second day due to a strike by hundreds of employees demanding higher wages, better working hours, and union recognition. The protest, which has led to around half of the daily production being affected, comes ahead of the festive season when sales typically surge. Samsung has deployed contract staff to mitigate production losses. The strike echoes similar labor unrest at Samsung's South Korean operations earlier this year. The workers accuse Samsung of attempts to destabilize their union and forcing overtime work. Samsung has stated it is actively engaging with workers to address grievances and comply with legal standards.
