Nike Supports Faith Kipyegon’s Historic Breaking4 Mile Attempt

Nike has partnered closely with Faith Kipyegon, the three-time Olympic champion and world record-holder, to support her historic attempt to become the first woman to run a mile in under four minutes. This collaboration includes the creation of custom-designed footwear, such as the Victory Elite FK spike featuring a taller Zoom Air unit and lighter carbon fiber plate, and a highly aerodynamic Fly Suit developed through computational design and wind-tunnel testing. Alongside these innovations, Nike introduced the FlyWeb sports bra made from 3D printed TPU for optimal performance and comfort, integrating it seamlessly with the Fly Suit. Nike's research and development team has tailored every element of the attempt—including apparel, footwear, and race conditions—to maximize Kipyegon's speed and energy return, aiming to shave critical seconds off her world record. Beyond the Breaking4 effort, Nike launched a global running collection inspired by Kipyegon's Kenyan heritage, athletic excellence, and role as a mother, designed to inspire runners with performance-driven shoes and apparel available worldwide.
