Man Charged With Murder in Akron Stabbing

A 56-year-old caretaker was fatally stabbed at an Akron, Ohio group home on November 15, 2024, around 9:22 p.m. after a dispute over loud music with a client, 34-year-old Jarel Wooden. The caretaker had called 911 reporting that she was pushed by the client, but when police arrived, she was found unresponsive with a stab wound and later pronounced dead. Wooden, who had visible injuries to his hands, was arrested and charged with murder. The incident occurred at a residence on Shaw Avenue. Police are still investigating the case and have asked the public for any additional information, while the caretaker's identity has not been released.
