The four-part series features firsthand accounts from Lawson, IRS agents, and law enforcement officials involved in the case, and is produced by some of the same team behind 'Narcos'. Lawson's investigation began in 2011 when he noticed suspicious horse racing transactions linked to the Treviño brothers, leaders of the cartel. The series aims to shed light on the violent realities of drug cartels and the challenges faced by law enforcement.
