Studiocanal Acquires Minority Stake in UK Brock Media

Studiocanal has acquired a minority stake in UK indie production company Brock Media, led by Sarah Brocklehurst, as part of a strategic partnership to develop Brock's slate of films, TV series, and audio projects. Brock Media, founded in 2022, is known for the BAFTA-nominated film The Outrun, starring Saoirse Ronan, which Studiocanal distributed internationally. The partnership will see Brock Media’s head of TV development Sophie Mitchell collaborate closely with Studiocanal's managing director of television M-K Kennedy to further develop a slate of 18 TV series and other projects. Studiocanal praised Brocklehurst's focus on bold, often female-driven stories and innovative IP creation, aligning with their vision to support diverse and promising UK talent. Brocklehurst expressed enthusiasm about the cultural alignment and shared commitment to producing world-class content for both UK and international audiences. The deal follows Brock Media's previous development partnership with BBC Studios, which expired earlier in 2025.
