Florida Completes Rice Creek Solar Energy Center
Origis Energy has announced the completion of the Rice Creek Solar Energy Center in Florida, which provides nearly 75 MWac of clean energy to 12 municipalities, powering approximately 14,000 homes. This project, part of the Florida Municipal Solar Project, features 213,000 solar panels and marks the first solar initiative for several cities including Havana and New Smyrna Beach. The Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA), which coordinated the project, aims to expand solar energy solutions to its members and their communities. Origis Energy is also closing a $415 million financing package for the Swift Air Solar project in Texas, which will supply zero-emission power to a Direct Air Capture facility. Both initiatives highlight a commitment to renewable energy and carbon reduction in the U.S. The Rice Creek facility is the third in the Florida Municipal Solar Project, with plans for further expansion.
