Rubio Arrested for Santa Monica Arson Spree

Marco Antonio Rubio, aged 34 or 36 according to differing reports, was arrested in Santa Monica for allegedly setting four fires within an hour on February 9. The fires took place at various locations, including the 1000 block of Colorado Avenue, 16th Street and Michigan Avenue, Memorial Park, and the 1500 block of 18th Street, causing damage to a pillow, cardboard, a mattress, Little League batting cage netting, and a parked vehicle. Police utilized aerial drone technology in the investigation, capturing footage of one fire and Rubio's arrest. Rubio, held on $75,000 bail, has prior records in California and Texas for resisting arrest, domestic violence, and assault but no previous arson charges.
