72-Year-Old Man Charged After Bomb Threat at Muskegon Hospital
A 72-year-old man, Patrick George Bassett, was arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat against Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital on February 28. The Muskegon Police Department received the threat around 8 p.m., claiming multiple explosive devices were present in the hospital. A thorough search by multiple agencies found no credibility to the threat. Bassett, who has a history of similar offenses, was traced to a residence in Norton Shores where he was apprehended. Trinity Health Muskegon confirmed that their security protocols were activated and enhanced measures were implemented following the incident. The case remains under investigation, with Bassett set for a probable cause hearing on March 11.
