Met Police Reopens Investigation into Wimbledon Crash

The Metropolitan Police have reopened the investigation into a tragic crash at The Study Prep school in Wimbledon, which resulted in the deaths of two eight-year-old girls, Nuria Sajjad and Selena Lau. The driver, Claire Freemantle, was initially not charged following claims of an epileptic seizure, but families and a review found significant shortfalls in the investigation, such as failure to interview key witnesses and properly assess medical evidence. The new probe, led by a specialist team, aims to address these concerns and provide closure to the affected families. Nuria's father, Saj Butt, and Selena's mother, Jessie Deng, have welcomed the fresh investigation, expressing hope for answers and healing. In addition to the fatalities, nine children and three adults were seriously injured in the crash. The investigation seeks to uncover the full circumstances of the incident and ensure all questions from the families are addressed.
